Evaluation- Q1: Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Double Page Spread
In the preliminary task we were instructed to create a school magazine cover and contents page. This meant we did not have to design and write a double page spread, however this is something we had to do for the main task of creating a music magazine. As I had no practice in making a double page spread I found this section of the task slightly harder as I had to learn what to do as I went along. The research and planning helped me greatly when I made my double page spread as it gave me the knowledge of what works and what doesn't.
In the making of the double page spread there were a lot more elements to be completed in comparison to the other pages in the magazine. I had to focus on my writing style and how I wanted the stroy to come across to the readers. This meant I needed to create a balance using formal and informal language that would appeal to the readers. Along with writing the story the page design was also challenging as I had to wrok with two pages and ensure they flowed simultaneously. I am used to working on single pages so I found it harder to create a double page spread that worked well. I think the final product of the double page spread has worked well and I think all of the elements compliment each other creating something that will be very appealing to the target audience.
