Magazine Appeal
We next looked at how and why
magazines appeal to their specific target audiences. I decided to look at a
certain magazine and how and why that appeals to their target audience so I
chose NME. NME is a popular indie rock music magazine. Their colour scheme is
black, white and red with a splash colour (for example blue). This is found
appealing by the target audience because black is a colour stereo typically liked colour by people who like indie and rock music. I also looked at how
magazines use specific celebrities on their cover as their main image, for
example top of the tops used Jessie j on one of their covers and this is to
lure their target audience of young teenage girls. This will lure them because
a lot of Jessie j fans are teenage girls so they will buy the magazine to find
out more about their favourite pop star.
