Shot Angles

There are a variety of shot angles used. The main angles used in the media are low, eye level, high, worm’s eye, canted and bird’s eye. Like the distances these angles provide different meanings and interpretations for the audience and using a different shot angle can portray something completely different to the audience. With a partner I also recreated these different shot angles, this enabled us to understand how photographers have to work to get the correct shot angle as it involves moving around a lot to find the best place to take the correct angled shot.
This shot is a worm’s eye shot. It is taken looking up at the main focus of the image. This makes the audience feel inferior to the person in the image and therefore gives that person a superior role.

This is a bird’s eye shot which is where the camera is looking down on the main focus of the image so it’s the opposite to a worm’s eye shot. This makes the audience feel superior to the person in the shot and they take on an inferior role.
